マドリードのバラハス空港に着き、飛行機を降りる。約束の到着ロビーへたどり着くと、我々同様大きなバックパックを背負い木製の杖を持った女性が待っていた――と思いきや、簡単に自己紹介をし、参加者全員がその場にいることを確認すると、その女性――もちろん、今回のカミーノ講習の講師の先生だ――は今日の宿泊予定のアストルガ行きのバスの時間が迫っていることを告げ、足早にメトロの駅へと歩き出した。

バス乗り場があるメンデス・アルバロ駅へと到着した。チケットカウンターへと急ぐも、時計を見れば針は予定していたバスの発車時刻を指していた。そのため仕方なく次のバスを取り、急遽追加されたマドリード観光を楽しんだ。二手に分かれ、一方は最近改修されたらしいレイナ・ソフィア美術館を訪れ、他方はレティーロ公園のカフェでのんびりと会話をした。僕はレティーロ組だった。

午後１時過ぎに食事をしたバルの近くには、王立歴史アカデミー（Real Academia de la Historia）があることを先生から教えていただいた。実際に見てみると、普通の民家とほとんど変わらない外観であったが、アカデミーの建物だけで１ブロックを形成しており、かなりでかい建物だった。

いつか、ここや国立歴史文書館（Archivo Histórico Nacional）で史料を読んでみたい。
……もっとも、古書体学の勉強は、全然進んでいないのだけれど。

At the Barajas airport(Madrid) we, 15 japanese students, met the director. We rushed to the ticket counter but could only buy the later bus tickets to Astorga, where we were going to start the following day. So we enjoyed sightseeing in Madrid until the bus started. Some of us went to the museum of Reina Sofia but the others and I went to Retiro park. We had lunch at the bar near the Real Academia de la Historia, where someday I want to do my study. En el aeropuerto de Barajas, Madrid, nos encontrabamos a la directora del curso del Camino. Nos trasladabamos a la estación y sacamos billetes de autobús para Astorga, de donde comenzaríamos andar mañana. Hasta la salida de autobús, hacíamos turismo en Madrid. Unos de nosotros en el museo de la Reina Sofia, y otros(me incluyendo) en el parque Retiro. Comimos en el bar, que es cerca de la Real Academia de la Historia. Quiero estudiar allí otro día. 日本時間で8月31日、いよいよ出発の日がやってきた。

でかいバックパックをかついで、成田空港へと向かう。
ロストバゲージになると困るからという理由で、バックパックを機内に持ち込むよう言われていたため、残る14人の講習生はすぐにそれと知れた。

とはいっても、成田ではお互いそれほど話すこともなく、飛行機の席はバラバラだったため、まともに話をしたのは乗り継ぎのシャルル・ド・ゴール空港に着いてからと、飛行機自体が小さく席が近かったマドリード行きの飛行機の中だった。

半年振りの長旅は、3月の旅行を思い出させた。

予備知識 / Background Info / Información sobre el Camino

講習のためのトレーニング以外にも色々とやるべきことがあった。
ゼミの発表の準備だとか、バイトだとか。

そんなわけで、ネットで情報を検索するとか、映画『サン・ジャックへの道』を見るとかしてカミーノに関する知識を得ることもなく、出発日を迎えてしまった。
（そもそもその映画の存在を知ったのは講習が始まってからメンバーと話しているときだった。そして、残念ながら年が明けた２月現在、いまだに見ていない。）

Other than trainings, I have to do a lot during the vacation, such as a preparation for presentation in a seminar class or a part time job. So I didn't do much to know about Camino. For example, I didn't know the movie "Saint Jacque ... La Mecque" till I met the members of the course, who are my best friends now.

前回のスペイン語トレーニングに続いて、今回は体力トレーニングについて書くことにしよう。

カミーノ講習の案内には、11日間でおよそ250kmを歩く、と記されていた。
小・中学生の頃に、山登りは何度かしたことがあったが、トレッキングシューズを履いて１日あたり20km以上歩くという経験はなかった。
そのため、新しい靴に足を慣れさせる意味も込めて、時々近所を歩いてトレーニングを行った。
（大きなバックパックを昼間から背負って街中を歩く勇気がなかったので、大抵の場合夜中だったけれど）

もちろん、歩いている途中で、SpanishPodを聞くことも忘れなかった。
（たまに自分の好きな音楽だけ聞いて歩くこともあったけれど）

This time about the training of strength. The director said that we had to walk more than 20km each day. Though I had sometimes climbed mountains when I was a child, never walked such a long distance. So I walked around the town I live in, with my new shoes on. Es tiempo para escribir del entrenamiento de mi fuerza. La directora me dijo que es necesario andar más que 20km por día. Aunque había subido unas montañas cuando era niño, nunca tengo ningun experiencia de andar tanta distancia. Entonces andaba en alredador de la ciudad en que vivo.
