巡礼を始めて10日目である。

この日は、いよいよサンティアゴの直前にあるモンテ・ド・ゴソを目指す。
Monte do Gozo即ち「喜びの丘」というやつで、サンティアゴの手前にあるこの丘まで来ると、大聖堂を遥かに臨むことができるため、巡礼者が歓喜するのだという。

昨日と同様、中島先生からは日本人同士で固まって歩かないようにとの指示がでていた。
アルスアを暗いうちに出発して歩いてはみたものの、この日はほとんど他の巡礼者にも会わず、みんな少し離れて歩くくらいだった。

It's been ten days since we started to walk this way. This day we headed for Monte do Gozo, which means "Mountain of Joy" and is located very close to Santiago de Compostela. As yesterday, Ms. Nakajima told us not to walk together but I could hardly find other pilgrims and I walked alone by the Airport of Santiago. ワインを飲んで、酔っ払ってはいたものの、アルベルゲに戻ってもそのまま寝るわけにはいかなかった。

講義後に、中島先生から言われたていたのだ。明日の目的地であるモンテ・ド・ゴソMonte do Gozoのアルベルゲでは、ガリシア自治政府の役人の方々の前で今回の巡礼について口頭で報告をしてもらうから、準備をしておくように、と。

酔った頭で細かいスペイン語の表現を考えるのは無理だと判断し、巡礼中に取ったメモを見たり自分の記憶を辿ったりしながら、何とか発表の大枠だけを考えて、この日は眠りに就いた。

Drunk wine in the pizzeria, I had one thing to do back in the albergue. Ms. Nakajima had told us that we should be prepared for the presentation about this pilgrimage before the officers of the local government of Galicia in an albergue of Monte do Gozo tomorrow. Aunque estaba borracho con vino, tengo una cosa que debía hacer en el albergue. Es que Sra. Nakajima nos había dicho que prepáramos las presentaciones sobre esta peregrinación para los oficiales del gobierno local de Galicia, en un albergue de Monte do Gozo mañana. ピザ / Pizza

講義が終わって外にでると、もう辺りは暗くなっていた。

この日は、アルベルゲの近くのピザ屋pizzeriaで夕食を取った。
3～4人で1つのテーブルを囲み、それぞれのテーブルでピザなどを注文した。
たくさん種類がある中で、我々のテーブルではオーソドックスにシーフードを選択した。

他のメンバーたちはピザを2種類以上注文しているようだったが、我々は牛肉と米をクリームで煮込んだ料理を頼んだ。
ピザも美味しかったが、こちらもとても美味しかった。
ワインも美味しかったのは、言うまでもない。

When we went out after the class, it was already dark. This day we had dinner in a pizzeria near the albergue. There were three or four members for each table. Though there were many kinds of pizza, we chose a pizza with seafood and a dish of beef à la crème with rice. Both were very delicious. Of course, the wine too. アルスアでの講義 (3) / Lecture in Arzua (3) / Clase en Arzua (3)

巡礼には他にも共通の特徴がある。

フィニステッラは古代のケルトの自然信仰から巡礼の対象となり、サンティアゴの次の目的地としてサンティアゴ巡礼に組み込まれることとなった。サンティアゴには聖ヤコブの石の舟に乗ってやってきたとされる。このように、巡礼の対象となる聖地には石と水が関連しており、これは「清め」が重要な意味を持つためである。サンティアゴのほかにも、インドのガンジス川や、フランスのルルドなどがこれにあたる。

今回の講義を通じて、巡礼と一口に言っても、世界には様々なシステムの巡礼があり、共通点もあれば相違点もある、というごく当たり前だが重要な視点を獲得できた。

Each pilgrimage has common characters. The one to Santiago has Finisterra as other target than Santiago and St. James is said to have come to Santiago on a stone boat. Like that, pilgrimage has something to do with water and stone, which is in turn related to purity. This class made me know that there were many kinds of pilgrimage which have different systems but at some points look alike.

Cada peregrinación tiene unos carácteres en común. Por ejemplo, a la de Santiago se añade Finisterra como otra destinación que Santiago. Y Jacobo (Santiago) parece haber llegado a Santiago en barca de piedra. Así que una peregrinación es relacionado con agua y piedra, que son la señal de pureza. Me enseñaba la clase que hay muchos tipos de peregrinación que tengan no sólo los sistemas originales sino carácteres similares.

巡礼の中には、個人的なもの・集団的なもの、特定の時期に行うべきもの・年中行われるものなど様々な種類がある。オーストラリアの先住民アボリジニの巡礼のように特定のルートを持たず、「歌」が巡礼の中心となるような事例もあるという。

特定の時期に行われる巡礼はロメリーアRomeríaと呼ばれる。ロメリーアは一般的に収穫を祝うことを目的としていた。メキシコのテノチティトラン巡礼や、ジンバブエにある石の神社への巡礼はこうした種類のものであるらしい。

サンティアゴ巡礼で使用されるようなクレデンシアルについても、同様のものが存在していた。古代エジプトや日本の熊野古道・お遍路さんなどである。しかし、現在のように決まった形を持っていたわけではなく、何か証書のようなものの場合もあれば、人々の間に広まる噂がその役割を果たす場合もあった。

Pilgrimage can be done personally or collectively, once in a year or all the year round. Or, like the one of the Aborigine, there exists a pilgrimage which has no static route and is constituted of singing. A pilgrimage which is done during a certain season is called Romeria. It was, at first, aimed at celebrating the harvest. There also exists something like a credencial of the pilgrimage to Santiago, for example in ancient Egypt.

Las peregrinaciones se hacen y se hacían personal o colectivamente, una vez por año o todo el año. Y como la de los aborigen australianos, hay una peregrinación que no tenga un camino estático y se centra en canción. Romería es una peregrinación que se hace en cierta estación y cuyo objetivo era primeramente celebrar la cosecha. Tambien hay algo como credencial para Camino de Santiago, en Egipto por ejemplo.

先生に呼ばれて、アルベルゲの近くにある教会のような建物に集まった。
我々講習参加者以外にも、同じアルベルゲに泊まっている巡礼者や、町の住人と思われる人たちも席に着いた。

今回の講義は、サンティアゴ巡礼を含めた世界中の巡礼に関する講義だった。

キリスト教に限らず、イスラムにも仏教にも巡礼は存在している。
日本で言うと遍路がそれにあたる。
イスラムではメッカ巡礼、いわゆるハッジが有名であり、イスラム教徒は生涯で一度はメッカ巡礼に行くとされている。
キリスト教の中でも、カトリックと違い、プロテスタントはあまり巡礼を行わないのが常であったが、近年ではルターの墓への巡礼を推進しているらしい。これは、サンティアゴ巡礼をモデルとしているという。北欧でも、同様に巡礼が盛んになってきているらしい。

Called by Ms. Nakajima, we got together in a building like a church which was near the albergue. Not only the members of the course but also the pilgrims staying in the same albergue were there to be given a lecture on the pilgrimages of the world. Most of the world has its own pilgrimage. In Japan, there is one called "Henro(遍路)". Islam has a pilgrimage called "Hajj", which is said to be the duty of Islam. Talking about the christianity, there are differences between Protestantism and Catholic, one of which is that Protestantism wasn't apt to encourage pilgrimage though nowadays it tends to do so making reference to the pilgrimage to Santiago.

Llamados por Sra. Nakajima, nos juntamos en un edificio como iglesia que estaba cerca del albergue. No sólo los miembros del curso sino los peregrinos del mismo albergue estaban ahí para que nos diera una profesora la clase sobre las peregrinaciones del mundo. En Japón, hay una peregrinación que se llama "Henro(遍路)". Los islámicos tienen "Hajj", que es un deber de ellos. Los cristianos tienen perspecvas diferentes sobre peregrinación, en particular el protestantismo no tendía a fomentar peregrinación antiguamente pero hoy en día tende hacerlo aludiendo a la de Santiago.

ビール / Beer / Cerveza

アルスアでも、例によって、ベッドに荷物を置き、シャワーを浴びているうちに残りのメンバーもアルベルゲに到着した。
非常に天気のいい日だったので、洗濯をして、服を干し終わってから何人かで近くのバルへ行き、昼食をとることにした。

例によってアルコールを一杯だけ腹に入れて、後はトルティーリャやソーセージを適当につまんだ。（適当にとは言っても、やはり30数キロ歩いて、シャワーを浴びた後なので、とても美味しく感じた。）

昼食を済ませると、明日の朝に軽く食べるものを買うべくスーパーマーケットへ行き、ヨーグルトやドーナツなどを購入した。

アルベルゲに戻ると、中島先生から講義開始の連絡があった。

As always, while we were taking shower, the other members arrived at the albergue. After they took shower, we did the laundries and went to a bar in Arzua. We had tortilla, some sausages and drank beer, which tasted really good after 30 kilometer's walk. After eating, we went to a supermarket to buy some food for breakfast. Mientras duchabamos, como siempre, los otros miembros llegaron al albergue. Después de que ducharon, lavabamos las ropas y entonces ibamos a un bar de Arzua. Allí comimos tortilla y chorizo, bebiendo cerveza que sabía a gloria después de andar 30 kilometros. Entonces, ibamos a un supermercado para comprar algunas cosas de desayunar. アルスア到着 / Arriving at Arzua / Llegando a Arzua

ラケルたちと分かれてから、アルスアまでは一人で歩いた。
炎天下、というほどには暑くなかったが、標高が高く木陰も多い山道とは違って、アスファルトで舗装された車道の横を歩き続けたためか、ひどく喉が渇いていた。

アルスアの町の手前から、ほぼ真っ直ぐな道路が続いていて、町は見えているのになかなか到着しないもどかしさがあった。

町の入り口のあたりで、道ばたで休んでいたおじさんにアルベルゲの位置を訪ねると、5分ほど歩いたら見つかると言われたのでその通りにした。
アルベルゲに到着すると、既に何人かのメンバーは到着していて、シャワーを浴びていた。
