レストランからアルベルゲに帰ってきても、話は終わらなかった。

昼間のうちに買っておいたビールを空けながら、ベッドに腰掛けて、巡礼中に起こった出来事、出会った人々、歩きながら考えたこと・感じたことなど、色々なことを話した。
これまでだったら、明日も30km歩かなくてはいけないから、と早めに寝るところだったが、明日はサンティアゴまでの数kmを残すのみである。

話は午前1時ごろまで続いた。

After coming back from the restaurant, we continued talking. Sitting on the bed, drinking beer that we bought in the afternoon, we talked about the people, events, and what we thought on the Camino de Santiago. As we were to walk only several miles to Santiago tomorrow, we talked till midnight.

Después de volver del restaurante al albergue, continuamos hablando. Nos sentando en las camas, bebieno cervezas, hablabamos sobre las personas, los que occurieron, los que habíamos pensado en el Camino de Santiago. En el día siguiente ibamos a andar solo unos kilometros, así que continuamos hablando hasta medianoche.

かなり緊張していたが、何とか無事自分の発表を終えた。
自分の番を終えた後は、注文してあったコーラを飲みながら、他のメンバーが発表するのを聞いていた。

メンバーの中にはスペイン語能力試験DELEの上級に合格しているメンバーもおり、自分の発表の拙さを改めて感じることとなった。
ともかく、全員発表を行い、ガリシア政府への報告は無事に終了した。

終了後は、モンテ・ド・ゴソの手前の村のレストランへ行き、夕食をとった。
発表が終わった開放感と、明日にはサンティアゴに到着し巡礼が終了するという感慨から、少し寂しさを感じつつも、沢山話をしながら呑んで食べた。

そのときの話題のひとつがこのクレデンシアルだ。
ブログではあまり触れなかったが、巡礼の途中にアルベルゲに泊まったときに一つずつスタンプを押してもらっていた。沢山集めるために、アルベルゲ以外にもバルなどでもスタンプがあれば押してもらったので、結構な数を集めることができた。

スタンプで埋まったクレデンシアルは、旅の様々なシーンを思い出させてくれる、巡礼のいい思い出の品の一つである。

After me, the other members finished their presentation. After that, I was released from the tension and also feeling the end of this pilgrimage. We went to a restaurant to have dinner, and talked and drank so much. At that time, we talked about the credencial. I got so many stamps at the albergues and the bars that I can remember every place.

Después de mi presentación, todos miembros acabaron las presentaciones. Así que me relajaba y también me sentía el fin de la peregrinación. Entonces ibamos al restaurante para cenar y hablabamos y bebíamos mucho. En ese momento hablabamos sobre el credencial. He obtenido muchos sellos en los albergues y los bares. Ellos me recordan a la peregrinación.

Abajo es lo que hablaba delante de los oficiales.


En la Universidad de Tokio, he estudiado la historia de Europa medieval, y aprendido a leer el francés y el latín. En marzo de este año (2008), por primera vez en mi vida, yo viajaba en España. Iba a Madrid, Cordoba, Toledo, Barcelona y Zaragoza. Este viaje era muy interesante para mí, porque no había conocido España. Sin embargo, andando en el Camino de Santiago, he experimentado muchas cosas, las que no pude hacer en mi primera viaje en España. Por ejemplo, no pude hablar mucho con personas españoles o extranjeros en la viaje de marzo, pero esta vez en el Camino, puedo hablar con muchos peregrinos. Á traves del curso del Camino de Santiago, creo que pude mejorar mi español. Es una cosa que he ganado. Otra cosa es que pude refrescar mi corazon para estudiar la historia de España, es decir, á traves de la peregrinación, tengo ganas de saber mucho más la historia de España tanto medieval como antigua y momderna. En total, he aprendido principalmente cómo hacen la peregrinación las gentes. Pienso que esta experiencia me ayudará mucho en mi estudio. Finalmente, quiero dar las gracias a todos los que relacionan á este programma, y todos los que me ayudaron en el Camino de Santiago. Muchissimas gracias.

First, I could improve my Spanish by talking with many pilgrims and inhabitants. アルベルゲが立ち並ぶ一角に、カフェテリアが設けられていた。

初めはオープンカフェのようになっているところでプレゼンをしようとしたのだが、風が強く声が聞き取りづらいということで、カフェテリアの中でコーラを飲みながらプレゼンを行うことになった。

椅子をぐるっと丸く並べて、ガリシア自治政府の方とサンティアゴ大学の先生とが加わって、20人ほどが輪になって座った。

そこで、どういうわけか全く分からないが、自分が最初にプレゼンをすることになった。
こういう場合ものすごく緊張する性質なので、弱ったなと思いながらも、震える声で自己紹介をし、メモを見ながら報告を始めた。

Between the big albergues, there was a cafeteria, in which we decided to have our presentation. A few officers of the Galician government and a professor of the University of Santiago de Compostela joined us. Then, somehow Ms. Nakajima chose me as the first person to give a presentation. I got so nervous ... and started from introducing myself.

アルベルゲの受付では、係の人が日本語で挨拶してくれた。
それに驚きつつ部屋に行ってみると、かなりきれいな部屋で、二段ベッドが４つあった。

荷物を置いて、シャワーを浴びて、洗濯をするといういつもの段取りをこなしているうちに、これまた例によって残りのメンバーも無事到着した。

手前の村に買い物に行ったり、洗濯物を干したりしつつ、あと30分ほどに迫ったプレゼンの準備をした。
他のメンバーも色々とメモを作ったりしている。

そうこうしている間に、中島先生から集合の声がかかった。

To my surprise, a reception clerk talked to us in Japanese. Our room was very clean. As usual, we took shower and did the laundry. After buying some food for tomorrow morning, we prepared for the presentation. About 30 minutes later, Ms. Nakajima called us.

「喜びの丘」が見えたものの、真っ直ぐたどり着けたわけではなかった。
少し右側に迂回して、ふもとの小さな村を通る必要があった。
村の中には小さなバルがあって、飲み物やパンくらいは買えそうだった。

その村を抜けると、ようやく丘に到着した。
先程見えた像があるあたりへ行くと、遠くのほうにサンティアゴの町が見えた。

その手前には、今夜泊まる予定のアルベルゲが見えた。
アルベルゲ、というよりはむしろキャンプ場のような感じで、モンテ・ド・ゴソのアルベルゲは特別大きかった。
おそらく1500人以上が宿泊できそうだった。

いくつもある建物の間を抜けて、受付を探して奥のほうまで進むと、入口の方に受付があると教えられ、仕方なく受付まで戻ることにした。

Having walked through a small village in front of the Monte do Gozo, we could see that statue. From there, the city of Santiago de Compostela and the albergue of Monte do Gozo can be seen. The albergue rather seemed like a camp. It was very very big and seemed to be able to accommodate more than 1,500 people. Thus we could somehow find the reception office. Antes de que llegamos a Monte do Gozo, atravesamos una villa pequeña, que tenía un bar. Desde Monte do Gozo pudimos ver Santiago de Compostela y el albergue de Monte do Gozo. El albergue parecía como un campamento y era muy grande. Parecía poder alojar más que 1,500 personas. Entonces teníamos un poco dificultad para encontrarnos a la oficina de recepción. 食事が終わった頃に、他の講習メンバーが何人か到着した。
おじいさんたちは、今日中にサンティアゴに行く予定だというので、先に出発してもらい、僕は他のメンバーともう少しバルで休憩した。

そこから先はほとんど楽な道が続いていたが、途中で少し小高い丘を通る道があった。
頂上を越えると、少し先に何か像のようなものが見えた。

あれがどうやら話に聞いていた喜びの丘らしい。
今日の目的地が近いと分かり嬉しい一方で、旅の終わりが近いことに少し寂しさも感じていた。

When I was finishing the sandwich, some members arrived. The old men, saying that they were going to get to Santiago before sun sets, left us at the bar. I stayed in the bar for a moment waiting for the members. After we started to walk, we hardly find difficult ways. There was only one hill, from which we could see a small statue standing on Monte do Gozo. Cuando he acabado de comer bocadillo, algunos miembros llegaron al bar. Dos viejos me dijeron que iban a llegar a Santiago este día, y se partieron. Yo estaba en el bar con los miembros cuando bebieron algo. Después del bar, no había casi ningun camino duro para andar. Pasando una cuesta, pudemos ver una estatua pequeña en Monte do Gozo. 空港脇の道を抜け頃に、前を歩く二人の老人に出会った。

例によって自己紹介程度、簡単に話をしながら歩いた。
二人ともスペイン人だったが、英語でも話をしてくれた。
スペイン語での会話は相変わらず苦手だったので、非常に助かったのを覚えている。

完全に空港付近から離れたころ、ぽつんと一軒のバルが見えた。
二人が休憩していくというので、ついでに自分も休むことにした。

歩き始めてからだいぶ時間が経っていたので、ボカディージョとコーラを注文して腹を満たした。

When I was finishing the road by the airport, I met two old men. As usual we introduced each other and talked as we walked. They were Spanish but sometimes talked in English, to which I was really thankful for I wasn't still used to talk in Spanish. As we went on, we found a bar and rested there. 巡礼を始めて10日目である。

この日は、いよいよサンティアゴの直前にあるモンテ・ド・ゴソを目指す。
Monte do Gozo即ち「喜びの丘」というやつで、サンティアゴの手前にあるこの丘まで来ると、大聖堂を遥かに臨むことができるため、巡礼者が歓喜するのだという。

昨日と同様、中島先生からは日本人同士で固まって歩かないようにとの指示がでていた。
アルスアを暗いうちに出発して歩いてはみたものの、この日はほとんど他の巡礼者にも会わず、みんな少し離れて歩くくらいだった。

It's been ten days since we started to walk this way. This day we headed for Monte do Gozo, which means "Mountain of Joy" and is located very close to Santiago de Compostela. As yesterday, Ms. Nakajima told us not to walk together but I could hardly find other pilgrims and I walked alone by the Airport of Santiago. ワインを飲んで、酔っ払ってはいたものの、アルベルゲに戻ってもそのまま寝るわけにはいかなかった。

講義後に、中島先生から言われたていたのだ。明日の目的地であるモンテ・ド・ゴソMonte do Gozoのアルベルゲでは、ガリシア自治政府の役人の方々の前で今回の巡礼について口頭で報告をしてもらうから、準備をしておくように、と。

酔った頭で細かいスペイン語の表現を考えるのは無理だと判断し、巡礼中に取ったメモを見たり自分の記憶を辿ったりしながら、何とか発表の大枠だけを考えて、この日は眠りに就いた。
