まだ、歩き始めたばかり / Still Just Started / Solamente todavia hemos salido

午前７時半。
いよいよ出発。
まだ薄暗いアストルガの街を発つ。

カミーノ（巡礼路）には、進むべき方向を指し示す黄色い矢印があちこちに描かれている。基本的にはそれを頼りに進む、と中島先生（カミーノ講習の講師です）から教わった。この矢印はカミーノのシンボルの一つとなっていて、キーホルダーやＴシャツのデザインとしてサンティアゴの土産屋で売られていた。

アストルガを抜けて郊外に出る頃には、周りは随分と明るくなっていた。
巡礼の旅はまだ始まったばかりで、最初はあまり離れることなく、ほとんど全員一緒に歩いた。まだ全然話をしていないメンバーもいたので、少しずつ自己紹介などをしながら歩いた。

この日歩いた道は、車道に沿って続く普通の歩道の場合もあれば、車道から少し離れた未舗装の狭い道だったり。全体的にかなり歩きやすい道だったと思う。

途中、何人もの巡礼者に追い越されたり、逆に追い抜いたりもした。そうしたときには「よい旅を（¡Buen Camino!）」と声をかける習慣なのだ、とこれも中島先生が教えてくれた。
本ブログのタイトルの由来はまさにこれ。

「¡Buen Camino!」と言って、そのまま会話が続く場合もあったし、単に挨拶をするだけの場合もあったが、とにかく皆にこやかに返事をしてくれた。これは今回の旅全体を通して印象に残った点の一つだ。歩いている途中、メンバーと離れて一人になることもあり、そうしたときに限って目印の黄色い矢印がなかなか見えず、不安になったりもした。それでも、他の巡礼者や町の人に会えば、挨拶をして、道を教えてもらうなどした。

At 7:30, it's still a bit dark but we started walking. Ms. Nakajima, the director, told us to follow the way which the yellow arrows indicate. We introduced ourselves more and talked about lots of things while we walked this day. The way here wasn't hard to walk, we enjoyed walking. Ms. Nakajima also told us that when we meet other pilgrims we'd say "¡Buen Camino!" each other, which is of course the title of this blog. This greeting made our pilgrimage good and happy thing. さて、いよいよ巡礼の初日。

時差ボケのせいなのか、昨夜のアルコールのせいなのか、普段なら絶対に目が覚めないような時間に目が覚めてしまった。時計の針は午前5時。しかし、まだ誰も動き出していなかったので、大人しく二度寝することにした。

再び目が覚めたのは6時ごろだった。件の司教館から、ミサを告げる鐘の音が響いてくる。

歯を磨いたあと、ネットが使えたのでメールをチェックした。２分の１くらいの確率でアルベルゲにはぽつんとパソコンが置いてあって、インターネットが使えた。料金はまちまちだが、相場は大体20分で0.5ユーロ程度だったと思う。
お金を入れないと動かないものもあったが、支払いは任意というものや無料の場合もあった。普通のカフェにも有料のパソコンがおいてある場合があったので、アルベルゲにない場合はそちらを利用した。まれにではあるが、日本語を入力できる場合もあって助かった覚えがある（ひどい場合には日本語を表示できなかった覚えがある）。

さて、そろそろ仲間たちも目を覚ましたようだ。
講師の先生のまわりに集まって、地図をもらい、歩く上での注意を聞いた。
いよいよ出発である。

The first day on Camino. At first I woke up at around five because of jet lag or, maybe, because of alcohol. So I slept till I heard the bells of the church rang at six. After washing my face, I used PC of the albergue in order to send some emails to my friend and my family. In most cities or towns, there're one or two albergues or cafes which have some PCs. Most of them cost me little money. At about 7, my Japanese friends gathered around the director and we got some instructions. And now it's time to walk! El primer día en el Camino de Santiago. Me levanté a las seis oyendo la campana. Después de lavarme la cara, usaba internet por email. Cuando andaba en el Camino, en casi todos ciudades o villas hay un albergue o café que tiene una o más ordenadores. Usando la ordenador me molestaba por la lengua japonesa porque no se podía mostrar en la monitor. Cerca de las siete mis amigos, estudiantes del curso de Camino, se han reunido. ¡Ahora es tiempo para empezar andar! 最初のアルベルゲ / First night in albergue / Primera noche en albergue

最初のアルベルゲは、プリバドだからか、予想よりも随分ときれいな建物だった。2階と3階が宿泊スペースとなっており、ところ狭しと二段ベッドが並べられ、50人ほどが宿泊できるようだった。我々は3階（といっても屋根裏部屋みたいな感じの部屋だった）に泊まることになった。

荷物をベッドに置き寝袋を広げてベッドを確保した後、重たいトレッキングシューズからサンダルに履き替えて一階の受付で7ユーロの宿代を払い、さらに１ユーロを支払ってクレデンシアルを受け取った。行く先々でスタンプを押してもらうためのカードなのだが、最終的にはサンティアゴでコンポステラーナ（巡礼の後に授けられる贖宥状のこと）をもらうために必要となる証明書でもある。

シャワーを浴びた後、ようやく暗くなり始めた午後９時過ぎからアルベルゲの近くのレストランで、美味しいワインとともに食事をとり、11時頃にアルベルゲへ戻り就寝した。

いよいよ、明日からカミーノを歩く、と思うと緊張したが、アルコールが入っていたせいか寝付きは悪くなかった。

In the private albergue of Astorga, we've got beds for this night for 7 euro. We've also got credencials which is necessary to get "compostellana", kinda indulgence, in Santiago. At about 9, we had dinner at a restaurant near the albergue. Spanish wine was so good. Though I was a bit worried about walking the next day, I could sleep well, maybe thanks to alcohol. アストルガに到着したのは結構遅い時間であったように思う。
そのため、最初のアルベルゲは、ムニシパル（公営）のアルベルゲがバス乗り場から離れていたこともあり、プリバド（私営）のものを選択した。

アルベルゲというのは、日本語に訳せば巡礼宿のことである。（古い文献だと旅籠という訳も見られる。）
ムニシパルにせよプリバドにせよ、どちらも一般的なホテルに泊まるよりはかなり安あがりであるが、巡礼者以外は利用できないきまりである。

アルベルゲに向かう途中、右手に大きな建物が見えた。（町に着いたときから割りと目立っていた）誰かが言っていたが、バルセロナにあるかのサグラダ・ファミリア教会を設計した建築家ガウディによって設計された司教館らしい。建築のことは、全くの勉強不足でよく分からないけれど、素敵な建物だと思った。

昼食を食べたバルを出て、メトロに乗ってバス乗り場まで行くと、アストルガ行きのバスは既に来ていた。時間ぎりぎりで飛び乗り、アストルガまでの数時間のうちほとんどを寝て過ごした。

途中、アストルガにかなり近い、ラ・バニェサという小さな町で休憩をしてからはアストルガに着くまで大体起きていたように思う。

後で先生から伺ったところによれば、途中でいくつか歴史的に有名な都市を通ったらしい。不覚。

We went back to the bus station after lunch. The bus had already come and we rushed into it. On the way to Astorga, I was almost asleep. We took rest at La Bañeza, which is very near to Astorga. Arriving at Astorga, the director told me that we passed through some historically important cities. I was really sorry that I couldn't see them.... C U Next!
